  • Livingston was away from Congress on July 2nd, 1776 and did not vote. (New York as a whole abstained that day.) He signed the Declaration on August 2nd with most of the other delegates.

  • He died in 1778 while serving in Congress, which was then based in York Pennsylvania as the British occupied Philadelphia.
